BL. W. B. Yeats

86. Gamberini, Spartaco. ‘Il teatro di William Butler Yeats’. Rivista di studi teatrali 1/11-12 (1954): 47-89.

Section 2, ‘Ezra Pound e I ’, traces in general terms Pound’s role in the advent of Imagism, his acquisition of Fenollosa’s manuscripts, and his subsequent enthusiasm for the nô, which he passed on to Yeats, who found in the form the ‘ideal theatre’ for which he had been searching. Includes discussion of Yeats’s technical appropriation of nô principles in each of the Four Plays for Dancers (17).
